Do you have control?

Are you being controlled by your work or is it the other around. Is life only about work, devoid of meaningful relationships.

Disconnection

Many times we wonder about taking a bold stance on the way we live our lives. We get all motivated and excited after reading and watching motivational content. We tend to make systems and make a schedule for almost the entire time we get in a day and at end of each day, we reflect on what we have done.

But is it really the way we imagined our lives to be? We always imagined a good, productive and happy life and living life differently is making us feel disconnected from the world as if whatever happens in the world doesn't matter to us, cause we are living at the peak of our lives. It is through human-to-human interaction, we have been able to learn a lot of things and develop a lot of relationships and connect with different people since the time we were born. Now, all those things seem meaningless. Somewhere deep in our minds, the craving for those relationships comes to light.

Building meaningful relationships

Take a look at the picture above. Some of you might want to go there with the people you share meaningful bonds with. Some of you might want to be involved in a different activity, where you can experience the joy of being in the moment. To embrace such things we have the entire world for us, but we are only interested in the walled cuboidal structure, where we work. Well, we need to work hard and develop our skills so that we can survive in the new economy, we need to have the dynamicity to keep ourselves updated with the latest trends in the world and we shouldn't have a second thought about working for these challenges. But, all these things are a part of "our lives", that we have control over and it is only we who can shape it. Why be a machine controlled by challenges, when you can be a leader in managing your life?

That's good motivation...but what's next?

As you have all read my thoughts on this idea, you must be thinking about how I manage and separate my work(academic) and personal life. The thing is that I am just like you(considering you face the same problem as me). I am a student who is passionate about learning and working on computer technologies. I like to read and don't get a lot of time after college to work and carry out my self-improvement habits. I do all my work but miss out on spending valuable time with my family.

The most valuable thing that I believe in is the ability to search. The majority of us are indeed unable to spend or even find time for the valuable relationships that we have developed and nurtured over time. We might complain about not getting enough time for our personal lives, but when we get the opportunity, we shy away from it and take everything professionally. We fail on living those moments with our family and friends. This is a grave mistake on our part and we have to take the stance to rectify it.

We should spend our lives searching for different opportunities of this kind and living those moments properly whenever we get one.
